Making Strides Walk - 12/08/2024

On December 8th, join the ladies of Lambda Omicron Omega, as we support the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event, by donating and participating in the Making Strides Walk to help find a cure and support those affected by this devastating disease.   Together, we can make a difference!  To register, go to www.MakingStridesWalk.org/SarasotaManatee or scan the QR code on the flyer below.

ΛΟΩ Member Receives Sarasota Cares Award

Congratulations to our sister, Dr. Gloria Armstrong, for being recognized as a Sarasota Cares award recipient from Booker High School for her outstanding service to students. This honor is well-deserved, and we are so proud of you!




2024 "Soaring Into Wellness" Health Expo

Our 2024 Soaring into Wellness Health Expo was AKAmazing! We had over 200 attendees!  Vendors provided essential resources and services to our community, and attendees had the opportunity to receive free health screenings, mental health support, financial planning resources, free turkeys, and door prizes. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this event!

2024 AKA "Soar To The Polls" Campaign

Have you voted yet? Early voting in Manatee County is available daily from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM until November 2. The deadline to return vote-by-mail ballots is Tuesday, November 5, by 7:00 PM. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

2024 SAR Joint Cluster II & III Meeting


The 2024 South Atlantic Region’s Joint Cluster II & III Meeting took place on October 18-19, 2024, at the magical Coronado Springs Disney Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. It was a phenomenal meeting!

Lambda Omicron Omega won the Chapter Attendance Award, and member Linda Carnes received the Outstanding Educator Award. Congratulations to both!  We are excited to Soar into Action as we Activate, Kaptivate, and Advocate in our communities!

Lambda Omicron Omega's members celebrated First Friday at Georgie’s Garden Cafe. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, members wore shades of pink and celebrated survivors.

Manasota National Pan-Hellenic Voter's Registration


Lambda Omicron Omega's members partnered with The Manasota National Pan-Hellenic Council for a Voter’s registration event at The 13th Ave Dream Center was a success.
Members provided information and assistance with voters’ registration for the 2024 Election.

39th Annual Freedom Awards Banquet

Lambda Omicron Omega's members had a fantastic time at the 39th Annual Freedom Awards Banquet hosted by the Sarasota County Branch NAACP.
Congratulations to all the honorees, including our member Edna Sherell, who received the Freedom Award in Education.

ΛΟΩ Supports The Community of Rubonia

On Saturday, October 5th, the ladies of Lambda Omicron Omega and the Generation Committee joined together to be of service to the citizens of Rubonia who were affected by Hurricane Helene.
Water, clothing, shoes, canned foods, household goods, cleaning supplies, mattresses, soap, hygiene products, diapers, towels, tarps, and gift cards were donated and distributed by members door-to-door-to-residents.  Please continue to keep the community in your prayers.
