Our CHIPP Program Is Back!
Lambda Omicron Omega's Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (CHIPP) Program is back in full swing! The CHIPP program provides weekend and holiday meals for children at Palm View K-8 School. Special thanks to Lambda Omicron Omega Vice-President LaTanya Edwards, members Lonetta Gaines, and Constance Anderson for helping with bag packing, and Gwendolyn Newsome for delivering the bags.
ΛΟΩ Chapter Retreat - "Standing On Business"
Lambda Omicron Omega Chapter kicked off the 2024-2025 program year with our chapter retreat. The theme was “Standing On Business” and members discussed the importance of voting, membership, leadership, and protocol.
Special thanks to Dr. Casmere Thomas, Retreat Co-Chairman, Ericka Randall, Retreat Co-Chairman, and the entire retreat committee for an AKAmazing chapter retreat! The keynote speaker, Cassandra R. Mitchell, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, gave an informative presentation on Mental Health.
ΛΟΩ Chartering Celebration
On Tuesday, August 13th, Lambda Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
celebrated the chapter's chartering of 47 years at Post Kitchen. It was a wonderful evening of sisterly bonding, fellowship, and delicious food! They are excited to continue to SOAR in sisterhood and provide service in Manatee and Sarasota counties!
ΛΟΩ GenNEXT Committee Hosts Candle Making Event
Our Generation Next Committee hosted: “Discover The Art of Candle-Making” event and it was a blast! Our members enjoyed a fun evening of creating custom candles, room sprays, and sisterly fellowship! Special thanks to our awesome instructors Melva Wright and Felicia Thomas with Whiff Candle Bar.

The ladies of Lambda Omicron Omega Chapter hosted a “Savvy Women, Smart Investors": Financial Wellness Seminar on Saturday, June 15th at the Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota. Special thanks to everyone who attended and to Edward Jones Financial Advisor, Kati Hays for providing valuable information on saving, investing, budgeting, and retirement planning.
